Saint of the Day
St. Paschasius (786-860)
Paschasius was a Benedictine abbot, but resigned to devote himself to study. His most important work, "The Body and Blood of Christ," started the first controversy on the Eucharist; it cleared the way for a precise understanding of Transubstantiation.
Reflections from the Saints
When I am before the Blessed Sacrament I feel such a lively faith that I can't describe it. Christ in the Eucharist is almost tangible to me... hen it is time for me to leave, I have to tear myself away from His sacred presence.
– St. Anthony Mary Claret
